Why the town you live in changes the call
Four of these towns are neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles, so water service, sewer service and repair permits run through city departments. Calabasas is its own city, with its own building division and a separate water district. That difference decides who you phone about a main break, where a permit question goes and which rules apply to a rebuild.
Housing changes too. The Census counts show median build years from the early 1960s in Winnetka and parts of Woodland Hills to the 1980s in Calabasas, and plumbing and roofing age with the neighborhood. Each town page uses those local numbers to explain what usually fails first and what that means for your repair.
If your address is not on the list
The edges of the service area do not stop at a ZIP boundary. If you are at the canyon edge in West Hills, in Bell Canyon or somewhere else nearby, call (818) 337-2642 and give the dispatcher your address. A same-day response is offered when crews are available, and the dispatcher will say plainly if a crew cannot reach you.
Every town page lists the services most relevant to that part of the Valley. For a full description of each stage of a water loss, see the services overview.

Questions about our service area
Which ZIP codes do you serve?
West Hills addresses carry 91307 and 91304. Canoga Park pairs 91303 with 91304, Woodland Hills uses 91367 and 91364, Chatsworth is 91311, Winnetka is 91306 and Calabasas is 91302. If your ZIP is not listed, call and ask.
Is emergency service available in every town you list?
The emergency line is open 24 hours a day for all of them, and same-day response is offered when crews are available. The dispatcher will tell you honestly what to expect for your address.
Do you charge extra to come to Calabasas or Chatsworth?
Pricing depends on the damage, not just the address. The scope and price are explained before work starts, so you will know what the job involves before it begins.
Who do I call about a water main break outside my home?
A break on the city side of the meter in the Los Angeles neighborhoods goes to LADWP at 1-800-DIAL-DWP (1-800-342-5397), which says it answers 24/7. Water that has already entered your home is the job for the restoration line.
